Stock shows, BBQ, beer, rodeo oh my. It’s rodeo time in Texas. It is the time of year when we get our boots buffed, buckles shined, and dust off those cowboy hats. If you have never experienced a rodeo, make 2017 the year you break out of your comfort zone and rodeo.
With Houston being our neighbor, we are regular attendees of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (“HLSR”). This rodeo is one of the largest rodeos in the country and it encompasses so much more than bulls, bucking broncos and beer.
If livestock or rodeo is not your fancy, the HLSR draws some of the world’s biggest recording artists. The HLSR lineup is a wide-ranging group of entertainers. The program is one of the best and I bet you can find someone to suit your musical flair.
You can also wet your whistle and fill your belly with some of the best brews, wine and top notch barbeque. You can spend twenty days (MARCH 7-26, 2017) watching and enjoying live entertainment, BBQ cook-offs, championship rodeos, livestock shows, visiting the carnival, shopping and so much more.
Most importantly, this venue raises millions of dollars for our youth. Here are just a few of the 2016 highlights:
Our very own Kole Parchman was a recipient of over $56,000.00 in scholarship auction funds from his incredible artwork. Those resources have allowed him to attend Texas A&M University. Whoop!
Friday, March 3rd is Go Texan Day. This is the day you show your Texas pride and dress yourself in your best western attire. Let Bling-A-GoGo suit you up and send you out in style. We will set you apart from the crowd and you will shake up the rodeo scene in our unique apparel.
Finally, this is a family friendly venue so suit up, get out and support your local youth. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
Side note: We know this is not the only rodeo, it just happens to be in our backyard and near and dear to our heart. We love all rodeos and love to support our local youth. Check out some of the other rodeos in your area. Regardless of your location, we got you covered, literally.
